Bars

The bar scene in Tasmania has undergone a revival in the recent past. There has been an explosion in the number of craft beer and craft cider bars around the state, however very few are using organic produce. Outstanding exceptions are the Two Metre Tall Brewery and Bar in the Derwent Valley and Willie Smith’s Apple Shed in the Huon Valley.
Another bar that we frequent as often as possible is St John in Launceston where we can always find an interesting beer to enjoy.
Interesting wines can be found in Hobart at four places that are getting national and international publicity, namely Lucinda, Willing Bros, Tom McHugo’s and Sonny. Each of these fills a slightly different niche in the market.
