CWA Gift Shop – Bounteous Offerings

CWA Gift Shop -Launceston

We must have walked past the CWA Gift Shop hundreds of times over the past decades and never walked inside. However on a recent trip we stopped and marvelled at the range of biscuits and cakes lined up in the window.

So we went in and there were even more things to drool over. The offerings here are typical of good country cooking in Australia where cakes, preserves, jams and other sweet offerings are usually turned out with aplomb.

On a shelf behind the counter there were jars of jams, chutneys and other interesting offerings. On the counter were some beautiful fresh lemons picked from a local tree and underneath the counter, behind glass were the cakes.

We bought biscuits including shortbread (excellent with the right texture) and melting moments (a different but still moorish interpretation) as well as some of the lemons.

We will now make the CWA Gift Shop a regular stop on our explorations as it is obvious that the staff here really care about the shop. It is spotless and everything displayed is in good order.
