Audrey Coffee – Introduction
We were delighted when Audrey Coffee made the brave move of opening on Hobart’s Eastern Shore, an area not noted for excellence in food and drinks. However, their vibrant coffee, cheery dispositions and tasty food have made them a firm local fixture, even to the extent of opening another venue.
The owners, Luke and Pete, previously worked for Villino and source some of their beans from them as well as key suppliers interstate and overseas.
When you enter this glass-lined venue on Bayfield Street, you first note the uncluttered appearance with a couple of shared tables (one in the front and one in the back) and some window seats. To the left you place your order for coffee and pastries (Pigeon Whole Bakers, of course) or good sandwiches at lunch time.
To the right, on the wall, there are some shelves with their “merch” including bags of roasted coffee beans from highly reputable roasters from Tasmania (Villino), interstate (Floozy and Seven Seeds, for example) and even overseas roasters from time to time.
Most of the merchandise is available for purchase online as well. We have seen a Seven Seeds Wahundura from Kenya and a Floozy Coffee Roaster Cerrode Lajas from Aragon, Mexico as just two examples.
Once you place your order the coffee usually arrives quite promptly and always with a smile. The owners are very friendly and instill in their staff the importance of customer relations.
All round this is a great venue serving very good coffee!

They have recently opened a second venue, also on the Eastern Shore at 1/27 South Arm Road, Rokeby.

There is now another Audrey outlet, also on the Eastern Shore, which is almost a mirror image of the Rosny outlet. The new Rokeby outlet has the same name, the same menu, the same coffee options, the same shared table, the same merchandise and the same prompt and pleasant service.
