Havilah – A Comfortable Bar

Havilah – Introduction

Havilah is a very welcome addition to the Launceston bar scene. It is comfortable, it provides efficient service, it serves modern wines and it serves very tasty food.

The fit out for this bar has been done with a great deal of thought and there are different spaces to suit different groups. Some can sit at the bar, others can sit at tables, others can enjoy the window bench and there are now tables outside for warm evenings.

Just inside the entrance you can peruse the bottles of wine that are on sale to drink on the premises or to take away. There is a good selection of Tasmanian and interstate options available.

The food ranges from snacks such as warm wild olives through to excellent charcuterie, some of which comes from the clever people at Fork It Farm in the Tamar Valley.

We have enjoyed our visits here very much and look forward to more! This is especially so, as a chef of some note has been working here since we visited last. This is Jamie Yates who is the chef responsible for the magical Breu chicken stock and other innovations in the Hobart food scene. We are looking forward very much to our next visit to Havilah.
