Bayside Meats is a female owned specialist retailer in Lower Sandy Bay that always has something of interest in the enticing display fridges. You may also see them referred to as Meat Mistress which is the moniker of one of the owners, so you might find meat mistress@bayside meats referred to on Instagram as @meat.mistress.
We are very lucky in Hobart to have four excellent meat retailers that ensure that if we want a particular cut of meat then we know that one of them will be able to supply it.
We like the fact that Bayside Meats source the Strellyfield Ducks products including the hearts which we love to marinate and then cook over the fire. Other meat producers that you can find here include George Shea’s Lyndall Lamb from Hamilton, Liz Mahnken’s Summerlea Farm Angus beef from Lilydale and Kate and Iain Field’s Leap Farm Goat meat from Copping to name but a few.
We also like the fact that they support other local producers such as Broadchurch chickens which are the best chicken product on the market in Tasmania.
