Spring Bay Seafoods became the first Australian company and one of the first seafood companies in the world to win international Friend of the Sea recognition for the sustainability of its farming practices.
They are also certified organic by the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia. One of the reasons why they are regarded as sustainable is that they produce their own spat rather than using wild spat.
Their blue mussels grace the tables of some of Australia’s best restaurants but their produce is also readily available for the home cook as well.
We buy the mussels from either the Hill Street Grocer or the Mures Fish Centre in Hobart where they are always available.
