Institut Polaire: A small, classy bar

Institut Polaire – Introduction

Institut Polaire is a delightful small bar on Hobart’s beautiful waterfront, directly opposite the Parliament House building.

The bar showcases the wines of Domaine Simha and the Sud Polaire spirits that all share common ownership by long-time industry professionals Louise and Nav.

It is a pleasant place to while away an hour or two enjoying the impressive selection of wines and spirits or sipping a cocktail made from excellent ingredients.

The food menu allows you to graze or to enjoy a substantial meal depending on your preference on the day. Chef Glenn is turning out some excellent food such as octopus sticks, potato soldiers with whipped roe and kombu, a delicious anchovy toast with whipped egg white butter as well as more substantial dishes based on house made pasta.

They also have a good selection of non-alcoholic drinks such as the fabulous NON and the Seedlip Garden Non-Alcoholic Spirit for those who cannot or don’t wish to avail themselves of the alcoholic offerings.
