Saint John is a vibrant, lively bar in Launceston that specialises in local and imported beer. They have up to 15 on tap using a unique tap system behind the bar connected to kegs in the cool room through the wall. You can also peruse the shelves for beers to take away.
There is a small but interesting food menu and a brief wine list, but the main focus here is on beer and cider. We were pleased to see examples from Perth’s excellent Feral brewery, Mountain Goat brewery and Little Rivers European Dark Lager from Tasmania. The latter is a particular favourite at the moment.
They have a food van out the back where you can buy food that matches with beer such as fried chicken, burgers and nachos from 5pm onwards.
