Harvest Feast has run a very strong “produce box” service during the shutdown for which we have been very grateful. The boxes have been delivered to the door as a contactless services.
Michelle, Paul and the team have worked hard to deliver this services and we look forward to the time they can return to Salamanca Market to continue their excellent work.
The following description of their stall and services explains why we enjoy shopping here so much.
Harvest Feast is one of our favourite places to shop in Tasmania. It is a long-running market stall run by Michelle Dyer and her partner Paul that focusses on local organic produce and interstate certified organic, non-fumigated produce of the highest quality.
Every Saturday morning when we are in Hobart sees us visiting the Salamanca Market early to visit two stalls, Provenance Growers and Harvest Feast, both of which sell the highest quality organic produce.
We have long been customers of the Harvest Feast stall due to the quality of the produce which is closely overseen by Michelle. She knows all the Tasmanian producers personally and will not tolerate any unsustainable practices such as using glyphosates to chemically kill weeds prior to planting the vegetables.
Some of the produce she sells is truly amazing such as the leeks grown on Tasmania’s north-west coast at remote Lorinna by Seven Springs Farm or the radishes and peppers grown by Terry O’Neill in the Huon Valley or the leaves grown by Alex Taylor at Golden Valley Farm also in the Huon Valley.
We also look for the free range eggs that are always available, the very fresh walnuts, the amazing pumpkin seeds and the bread from Tasmania’s best baker Pigeon Whole Bakers.
They also bring in the best organic ginger and turmeric from interstate which we use to make a turmeric tea. We have detailed our recipe for this here:Turmeric and Ginger tea
The staff on this stall are all extremely passionate about the produce and are obviously proud about dealing with items of such high quality.
